Sealane were contracted by the Port of Tyne to cut off 17No disused timber fenders at Seabed level approx. -7mCD, the timber fenders were cut off at bed level to prevent any future hazards to shipping.
The works were carried out with Port of Tyne vessel clearwater to carry out lifting operations.
All timbers were cut off at bed level using a hydraulic chainsaw and underwater Oxy arc burning equipment to remove steel plates from the timbers where they had been spliced to remove the timbers in manageable sections.
Works were completed over a period of 6 days in November 2021.
